Vienna, 4 March 2024: At the opening of the IAEA Board of Governors Ambassador Götz Schmidt-Bremme expressed his appreciation for the presence of IAEA personnel in Ukraine to strengthen the safety of Ukrainian nuclear power sites. In this context Ambassador Schmidt-Bremme requested that Russia immediately ends the illegitimate occupation of the nuclear power plant near Zaporizhzhia.
