Vienna, 2 - 6 March 2020: The 63rd session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) covers a wide range of topics and displays more than 100 side events. The CND is the main drug policy-making body of the United Nations and located in Vienna. The 63rd session was opened by the new Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Ms. Ghada Waly. Ambassador Gerhard Küntzle delivered the statement of the Federal Republic of Germany and also participated in the opening of a side event on Alternative Development co-sponsored by Germany. In the evening of the first day of the CND session, Ambassador Küntzle welcomed 100 guests to a reception:
